A sixteen-year-old boy in 1942 Germany accepts a chance to pursue his boxing career by attending a NAPOLA training facility - a party-run school designed to produce good National Socialists to settle conquered territories. Initially receptive to the brutal discipline and indoctrination, he soon begins to question the system as he develops a close friendship with another student, especially after a night-time exercise leads to tragedy. Director Dennis Gansel dedicated the film to his grandfather, whose first-hand tales of NAPOLA inspired the film.
